Introduction[]
Uncle Randy's TIS-100 is the primary interface with which the game, TIS-100, takes place. Originally owned by Uncle Randy, the machine was gifted to the player by the player's aunt, Aunt Doris, shortly after Uncle Randy's mysterious death. Doris found the machine while going through Randy's stuff. She refers to the device as "his work" in her note found in the manual.

The system comes with the following anti-tamper certification:

Tampering with the memory contents of this device is a violation of the law and must be promptly reported to the state security bureau.

Randy's Notes[]
The instruction manual for the device was also provided. The manual itself contains highlights and various notes, likely from Uncle Randy. The notes include the following TODO list:
- Figure out who sold TIS-199 to swap meet dealer
Rebuild signal multiplier(sic)- Look for book of micro-optimization tips
- Renew license plate tabs(sic)
Segment Repair[]
When the player starts their first play session, there is no working code. Each system segment is not working correctly, causing the system to not function nominally. The player must rebuild the code for each system segments, further unlocking more of the game and eventually unlocking the TIS-NET directory, which contains additional "segment like" code challenges.
Debug Logs[]

Each system segment contains nodes that appear to be corrupted; they are red with the words "Communication Failure" with one of these type nodes containing a button with the word Debug. Click debug opens a dialog beginning with the words "- COMPUTE NODE DIAGNOSTIC - MICRO DUMP -".
